I like how these both speak across registers, one whispering through rivers, the other testifying through wetlands. Same ache, different voice, beautifully done!
Jaap, I enjoy the push pull that we often have when Jeremy and I write together. This time with the topic going more in environmental directions I decided to flow alongside Jeremy and find similarities. I’m glad you enjoyed it. 🌞
Awesome piece. Exactly what I’ve been craving to read! And from some of my favourite people on Substack.
Shoutout to Jeremy Marks: my fellow Jew. I really appreciated your reading.
And Sylvia, damn! Your poem got me glitching out, somersaulting. La Crème de la crème! Your voice sang this piece together.
And commodification, that exploitation. Hope to see a day where people live in unity with real need, instead of capitalistic-market-conditioning where the price we pay for something isn’t the real face value when there’s people on the other side, hands and backs hurting to provide us with our low priced commodities. Agriculture/horticulture, to warehouse and construction - especially in poor countries - these workers have been the fertiliser, the cow manure for the growth of the Industrial Revolution.
I know it’s not a lot but I try and buy as much produce as possible from local organic growers, as well as source my clothes from local vintage stores. It’s the little things. The more we stop supporting these big corporations the easier it will be to let these smaller businesses thrive that care about our wellbeing.
Whew 😮💨 DOMO! What a comment. We very much appreciate you being here and enjoying the poetic dialogue. And to know that it’s touching on topics that are not only important but that stimulates deeper thought is even more rewarding.
Working with Jeremy on these collaborations has been elevating for me and a very inspiring journey. He’s brought me back to my roots in many ways and it’s been really good to reflect back writing on topics that used to be major driving forces behind my thoughts.
I agree with you about doing what we can even if the ways seem small and insignificant. It all does help even if it seems discouraging on a larger level. There is always important change that can happen on community levels and that’s what is encouraging.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and for being here. Can’t wait to get you rotating in our mix. 🌞
Thank you Mark! I love how you are always posting your photographic wanderings. You do the same but through images. It's a pleasure to unite in thought here.

Thank you, Jaap. That's very kind. And I'm grateful for the restack. 😊

Thank you, Domo. Word. 😁😆
Very true reflections on the destruction we humans continue to do on a daily basis!
Mesmerising words and thought provoking. Thank you both.
Thank you, Mark. And I will echo what Sylvia said. I look forward to your photos.

Human arrogance does indeed wound eternally. Thank you both for stimulating us to think about the relation between humans and nature.
Thank you for reading and commenting, Luis.🙏
Thank you Luis!! And you're welcome. We also have the power to turn things around. Which is something hopeful that I try to present with my piece.
