Love the description: metaphysical meditation. Thatβs the cherry on the cake. Thank so much Tolu! Our voices only mean something when they are heard and carried into the soul with understanding. Itβs always such a lovely gift to have you here with us in reception. ππ
this feels like watching two consciousnesses dissolve into each other through language itself π¦ the way "our pens collide and depart like reeds" makes writing feel organic, almost accidentally touching then drifting. β¨linguistic intimacyβ¨
the whole piece breathes like one long inhale where boundaries just... stop mattering "where I begin, you end / where I end, you begin again" reads like spiritual recursion, an infinite loop of becoming each other. the formal play with those internal rhymes (skin/within/begin/spin/win) creates this hypnotic pull, like being drawn into someone else's rhythm until you can't find your own edges anymore πΊ
"fingers sing in lyrical calligraphy" might be the most beautiful description of collaborative creation. bodies becoming instruments, making visual music together. then that shift to "Δtar of us" using the sacred fire reference... turning two people into something almost alchemical.
the ending kills me: "forever limitless, where dualities align" π§ not dualities merging but aligning, still two things but moving in perfect parallel. cosmic spin that never quite touches but never quite separates. gorgeous gorgeous.
Marissa you do our words more than justice, capturing the slightest nuances and adding to the elegance in breathless complimentary tones so warm that it elevates us all into one achingly precious collision of creative dance. Thank you for your gorgeous mind and soul. I bow deeply in appreciation. β€οΈπ
This kind of comment always blows my mind. To have people read and really feel and understand the poetry is such a blessing. So amazing. Thank you so much.
It's really dope that you have been reading Saccharum! Sylvia and I are putting our blood, sweat, and tears into this project, so it is really great to see that it is valuable enough for people to take their time reading and listening to our work.
Ever since I was a child poetry has been one of the only things I have been truly passionate about.
Plus, so many amazing writers have blessed us with collaborative work. I love seeing others work shine and I am still learning how to write.
Thanks for your graces Tamara, you're intellectual prowess is something I have been in awe of here as I've read your work.
That means a lot, thank you, Jozef! I can feel the blood, sweat, and tears in Saccharum, which is why it resonates the way it does. This project is carried with such devotion and generosity, not only to your own voices but to the voices youβre bringing forward, I am impressed! That spirit of collaboration is what makes poetry feel alive rather than ornamental.
And as for still learning how to write, honestly, I donβt think that part ever ends. If it does, the work goes stale. The learning is the fire. Keep tending it, because what youβre building already carries more power than you realise. I am still learning how to write tooβ¦.
Thank you Tamara! Very cool that you were able to sit with us for a bit and enjoy what we created. The balance in trying to keep up with reading and commenting and posting can be a lot sometimes. You are very appreciated. π
This is gorgeous!
It reads like a cosmic love poem merged with a metaphysical meditation.
Fluid and timeless.
Thank you for blessing us yet again.

That balance is very fragile, I know it too well. Time is precious too. But I will always find time for poetry.
legends.
Beautifully written and soulful.
Thank you π
Thank you dear friend. We have done our job as artists when we are met with the heart and soul we share and put towards our work. ππ
